Universal Studios Orlando - Epic Universe Hopeful to Open in 2025
NBCUniversal announced their expansion and plans to build a third theme park on property at their Orlando Resort in 2019. Epic Universe will join Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure, on a 750 acre site, located a few miles south from the existing parks. This will be their largest and most immersive theme park to date.
Attractions have not been confirmed but we can have a little fun speculating from the released concept art. They show two roller coasters, some indoor rides & attractions, large water features, and a hotel.
NBCUniversal has also been quiet about the IPs and themes of the lands in the park. We do know that Super Nintendo World will be here! Other rumored lands have been Universal Monsters, How to Train your Dragon, and another addition to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
New permits just filed with Orange County under “Project 905” for “new construction” on a building that was built with the purpose of “a ride combination building,” prior. There is growing speculation that “Project 905” is regarding The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In an interview with People Magazine, Theirry Coup, Universal’s Chief Creative Officer and Senior Vice President, iterated that, “we are not done with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.”
